Kairos Blanket Exercise logo features a turtle with blankets on its shell

On Saturday, January 28th, Glenview will be hosting a KAIROS Blanket Exercise. This amazing teaching tool, shares the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada. During this moving experience, participants step onto blankets representing the land, and into the role of First Nations, Inuit and later Metis peoples. During this engaging and emotional activity, Facilitators read a script and assume the role of European explorers and settlers. All ages are invited to participate in this movement towards truth and reconciliation.

The duration of the event will be approximately three hours long, with a light pot-luck lunch and refreshments at Glenview in advance of the "talking circle." We are looking forward to hosting people at 1 Glenview Avenue from 1:00-4:00 pm pm Saturday, January 28th, in our Church Hall. 2-3 Facilitators will be at Glenview Presbyterian church with all of the supplies.

Please RSVP by Thursday, January 19th, so that we may provide chairs and food for participants. (We also require 8 days advance notice to cancel the event if we cannot get sufficient participation). The ideal number of participants for this event is between 30-40 people.

Please RSVP to Shannon Wiggan if you wish to participate, and would like to contribute refreshments.

A tithing basket will be present at the event and an optional donation may given at your discretion.
